Adult Classes
The adult sailing classes are for anyone 18+ that are new to sailing or to those that want to enhance their skills. Sharon has added a class this year the Learn-to-Race for NLYC club members and their crew to become more competitive.
Class will be split based on experience level and to meet the learner’s needs. Students will learn safe boat handling, sailing terminology, and the basic rules of sailing. Classes are small with 1-3 students per boat. Come prepared to spend time on the water! Learn how to steer and crew. Please bring a comfortable coast guard approved life jacket. This is also great opportunity to meet others in the sailing community!
We hope you will join us!
Classes are held at Nagawicka Lake Yacht Club
Meet Coach Sharon
Sharon grew up in Illinois and sailed on Delavan Lake in a family of sailors, she was the 3rd generation to race scows. She taught sailing for Hoofers at UW Madison.
After college Sharon and her husband moved to Delafield where she taught youth classes for 4 years, while also sailing on a C and occasionally E and MC scow.
